| Autumn 97 | New liner pond same dimensions average 3.25*1.25*0.55 metres now 2250 litres . Some of the young were too inquisitive and ended up in the filter. |

| Winter 97 | added the in-laws' Christmas present a plastic heron. The pond is under a pergola to discourage them. |

| Jan 2nd 98 | the proposed pond spring activities are off a little early when I found the pond almost drained. I'd sent all the water to the filter until I could build the waterfall and permanent Venturi. The pump had been not been running fully primed but chose today to kick in. We've had rain for 7 days solid and today I had to get the hose out. All 28 living things accounted for including 3 I have not seen for months. |

| April 98 | Marginal baskets 3 on each of 3 sides - one shelf is sloping too much to support. Started br()et weed treatment found that a large bag of food comes with free storage tub. Started thinking about waterfalls. |

| July 98 | Marginal basket blew over so consolidated plants into another - all of compost on pond floor - new filter foams - unblocked venturi - removed internal debris from pump impeller - Dipsy is missing - Added Watercress - added furry oxygenator - added water hyacinth - added water chestnut. |
